I purchased a 45 tube amp from Dan (apparently the first prototype of this design available for sale). It has been an absolute delight listening to this amp. I have used the Elekit 300B and 2A3 amps before, the 45 from American Tube Amp easily bests the 2A3 for transparency and the 300B for punch and heft (surprisingly, the 2 W output from the 45 amp is louder than the 8 W Elekit 300B, I think because of the lack of negative feedback. Dan has introduced a new topology to his 45 design that eliminates any audible hum from the amp). It is hard to describe this amp - it is menacingly holographic and transparent. There is zero bloom (like one gets with a 300B) and a lot more resolving than a 2A3. The bass is surprisingly weighty and tight. Honestly, I have heard sounds like this only in high-end showroom with $20,000+ equipment. Enough said.

I have a stereo single-ended KT88 amp from American Tube. I've had a lot of tube amps, but this is one of my favorites, comparable to a much more expensive one! These are well designed amps operating at conservative specs for great sound AND long component life. Very highly recommended!
